I was tired of seeing people
come back from Bali disappointed.
Not because Bali is disappointing (because it's magical once you know its corners). But because they go where the influencers go to party, drink their coffee as if they were in European luxury... That's the south of Bali, paved over, which I find "ugly" if not horrible, on top of the traffic. The beauty of Bali is elsewhere.
Most itineraries are given by influencers who came for 3 weeks, or generic PDFs that recycle the same info for 5 years. The ones who recommend going to Canggu, Kuta or Seminyak. That's not what you'll find here.

since October 2023
I settled in Bali after leaving everything behind in France in early 2022 and spending 15 months on a solo trip around the world. Since then, I've been living in Bali, which has become my island of the heart. And yet at first it wasn't love at first sight during my 3 week stop here on my world trip. But surprisingly, this island called me back a first time after my trip to New Zealand, then for good in 2023.
Since then this island has brought me so much: challenges, joys, encounters, obstacles... It's an island with very strong energy so be prepared. your life will change once you come here!
I test new addresses every week. When something closes or isn't up to standard anymore. I remove it from the guide. When I discover a place nobody knows about yet. it goes in. Bali moves very fast with its development. That's why I have to update it regularly.

Yes. Bali can be very affordable or quite high end depending on your choices. I have addresses for both. Local warungs at 2€ a meal as well as fine dining restaurants and experiences unique in the world. Accommodation at 15€ a night as well as luxury villas with pools. I like to travel in 2 styles, backpacker one day then luxury from time to time. Thanks to that I can offer you everything.
Lonely Planet is good for the big picture. mine is what Lonely Planet will never tell you. The waterfalls only locals know about. Authentic healers vs tourist traps. Direct WhatsApp contacts for my French speaking drivers. Lonely Planet will never tell you to avoid Kuta and Seminyak, quite the opposite 😄
